Arthritis Diet
Arthritis sufferers commonly have a high level of acidity which increases the potential for developing inflammatory conditions. Acidity can be decreased by reducing your intake of acid-forming foods and increasing intake of alkaline-forming foods. Acid-forming foods (examples): * Sugar (soft drinks) * Meat (beef, chicken, fish) * Dairy products (milk, cheese, ice cream) * Most grains (wheat, oats, corn, rice and their flours) * Coffee * Alcohol * Peanuts * Chocolate * Corn Oil Alkaline-forming foods (examples): * Most fresh vegetables (spinach, broccoli, celery, lettuce, cucumber, carrots, garlic) * Most fresh fruits (apples, avocados, lemons, figs, oranges, melons) * Grains (millet, amaranth, buckwheat, quinoa, wild rice) * Whey Protein powder * Almonds * Herb Teas, green tea * Virgin Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil Plan your daily diet to eat 75% alkaline foods. One of my favorite meals is to have a big bowl of salad that includes fresh spinach, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and avocados with fresh lemon juice as the "dressing". Very alkalizing! Use organic foods as much as possible.
